Facts and Events
According to Patricia (Haines) Reichelderfer, her mother, Martha C. (Crum) Haines told her that her Uncle Jeremiah "Gerry" Crum had been in an argument or dispute of some kind with the family. One morning he went out to work the fields with a team of horses. When he did not return for lunch the family looked for him and found only the team of horses. Patricia doesn't know when this was or how old Jeremiah would have been. There is a picture of Jeremiah with his younger brother, John, dressed in suits and hats. It looks like Jeremiah was a young man in this undated studio portrait. A writer identified "Gerry Crum" as sitting on the left and John to the right. This is the last known portrait of Jeremiah. Jeremiah is listed as a 17-year-old son living in his parents' home in Vernon Township, Crawford County, Ohio, in the 1880 U.S. Census. In the 1903 Centennial Biographical History of Crawford County, the biography on Jacob Crum noted that Jeremiah was living in the state of Washington. In Jacob Crum's obituary, published in 1918, it was noted that Jeremiah was living in Utah. What happened to Jeremiah "Gerry" Crum? --Rebekah Carlisle 21:23, 27 June 2011 (EDT)) Image Gallery
