He was a master of several trades and left Conn. when 21 years of age; he went to Berlin, Ohio, thence to Indiana and afterward to Iowa; about 1854, with his son Henry, he moved to Mich., where they remained a few years and returned to Laomi [sic], Decatur Co., Iowa; he was captain of the Home Guards a number of years; he d.
