R. E. Stevens Dies In Home Last Evening Richard Edward Stevens, 62, well know resident died in his residence in the north part of town late yesterday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and several children. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Visalia Morning Delta (Visalia, Tulare, California) Wednesday, January 23, 1924, page 3, column 4, California State Library, Sacramento, California. Stevens Funeral To Be Held Today Funeral services for Richard Edward Stevens will be held this afternoon at 2:30 from the Methodist Church, south. Rev. Douglas T. Reed officiating. Interment wil be in the Visalia Cemetery. Mr. Stevens died in his home Tuesday night. He was a native of Arkansas and came to Visalia 27 years ago. He had been ill for the past three weeks. Surviving him is his wife, Mary Ida Stevens; four sons, John, Maurice, Richard and Clayton Stevens; one daughter, Miss Elinor, all of this city and a sister, Mrs. E. L. Eaver, of Texas. Brooks and Murray have charge of arrangements.
