Services Set Thursday for James Stevens Funeral services for James Clayton Stevens, W.W. II veteran who died at Lancaster last week will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday in the F. D. Sweet and Son chapel here with REv. Leslie Dabritz officiating. Burial will be under the auspices of Alfred J. Foster Post, American Legion. Stevens was born at Visalia, July 29 1913. He lived near Willows for a number of years and being a member of the National Guard entered the Army in September, 1940. He was sent overseas and fought in the European theatre for two years being wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. He was sent to the United States on a hospital ship and was then placed at the Army hospital in Santa Barbara and was later transferred to Lancaster. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Stevens, a sister, Mrs. Robert Hollis, both of Orland and two brothers Maurice Stevens of Springfield and Richard Stevens of Orland.
