Richard (Dick) Dale Loughner Sr., 83, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his residence in Conneautville.
He was born May 10, 1930, to the late William J. Loughner and Alice B. Baker Loughner Plautz. He married Bonnie Jean Crooks; she preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2002.
He was a retired electrician from Kightlinger Electric. He served our great country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict.
He was a very active man belonging to many community organizations including Conneautville Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post 615, Conneautville Fire Police and Springboro Fire Department.
He will be missed by many, including his little buddy, Dolly, his Maltese.
Survivors include two daughters, Lou Ann Barron and her husband, Theodore, of Springboro, and Linda Metzger and her husband, Charles, of Conneautville; one son, Richard Loughner Jr. of Conneautville; a daughter-in-law, Delia Loughner of Linesville; grandchildren, Michelle (Dan) Marlowe, Michael (Shelly Tantlinger) Barron, Heather (Mark) Barron-Sons, Blake (Heidi Suroviec) Metzger, Richard (Jessica) Loughner III, Loretta (Joe) Unger, Daniel Loughner Jr. and Amy (Jason) Kondrat; great-grandchildren, Brenden James Loughner, Alexander Loughner, Jack Grayson Unger, Savannah Jane Metzger, Jason Kondrat, Jenna Kondrat, Cameron, Warren, Dylan, Gavin Marlowe and Brody Sons; and a lifelong friend who was raised with him, Robert Newman.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Charles Loughner; seven sisters, Rae Fletcher, Dorothy (Dot) Morris, Kate Davis, Jean Adkins, Alice Slivka, Annabelle Keefe and Ruth King; and three brothers, Harry, Robert (Bud) and Charles (Chuck) Loughner.
