The 1820 census lists 1 male and 3 female children in David French's household as well as 1 male and 1 female age 26 -45. Since they had only been married 4 years, it's possible there are children here from Rebecca's previous marriage.

The 1850 census lists both David and Rebecca French as "56" years old and says Rebecca's place of birth was "Penn" (could be an error by the census taker). Others in the household at that time (all born in "Ind") were Margaret, age 33; Martha A., age 19; David T. Jackson, age 11; and Arnold Shippy (or Shiffy), age 28, "School Teacher".
