WILLIAM, Dorchester, came prob. in the Defence 1635, aged 48, with w. Mabel, 30; George, 6; Ralph, 5; and Justus, 18 mos. and had at D. Abigail, bapt. 30 Dec. 1638; was freem. 14 Mar. 1639; rem. prob. first to Rehoboth, or perhaps liv. at Woburn.
RALPH, Woburn, s. of William of Dorchester, brought from Eng. by his f. in very early youth by w. Mary, d. of Anthony Pierce of Watertown, had William, b. 1658; John, 1660; Joseph; Daniel; Timothy, b. 14 Feb. 1666; David; and Jonathan.

JOHN, Watertown, freem. Mar. 1638. a man of very good est. project. settlem. at Sudbury and Lancaster, d. 19 Aug. 1661; and his will of 4 Mar. 1658 was pro. 1 Oct. foll. In it he provides for 2. Elizabeth eldest s. Anthony, and other childr. without naming; but his wid. in her will of 15 Mar. 1667, in wh. mo. she d. aged 79, supplies the defic. naming ch. Anthony, John, Robert, Esther Morse, w. of Joseph, Mary Coldam, whose h. is not of my acquaint. beside gr.childr. Mary Ball, and ano. Ball, Esther Morse, and the childr. of Anthony and Robert. He had also d. Judith wh. m. 30 Jan 1645, Francis Wyman, but she d. bef. her f. By Bond he is correct. judged to be the man emb. 1637 at Yarmouth, with w. and ch. he aged 49 yrs. w. Elizabeth 36, ch. John, Barbara, Elizabeth and Judith, with a serv. John Gedney, 19, as had been print. in 4 Mass. Hist. Coll. I. 95, and again is giv. in Geneal. Reg. XIV. 325. He was from Norwich, a weaver.
*JOHN, Woburn,prob. s. of John of Watertown, and b. in Eng. had John, b. 23 Nov. 1644; Joseph, 12 Sept. 1646; and Thomas, 3 May 1649; perhaps others bef. or aft. was freem. in Apr. and rep. May 1690.
ANTHONY, Watertown, eldest s. of John of the same, b. in Eng. freem. 3 Sept. 1634, but by Felt is claim. for Salem that yr. yet perhaps against the stronger right of W. for here the rec. says by w. Sarah or Ann (for he had two, but Ann was the surv.) was b. Mary, 28 Dec. 1633; John, eldest s. whose date is not kn.; Mary, again, 1636; Jacob, 15 Sept. 1637; Daniel, 1 Jan. 1640; Martha, 24 Apr. 1641; Joseph; Benjamin, 1649; and Judith, 18 July 1650; and he d. 9 May 1678. Mary m. Ralph Read of Woburn; and Judith m. 16 Feb. 1667, John Sawin.

1662 SIMONDS *Judith Simonds, wife of William1 was dau of William Phipping of Wedmore, Somerset, England (N E Hist & Gen Reg Vol 66) As a witness in Court, in 1662, William Simonds gave his age as "about fifty years" He also testified in Court, in April 1659, wherein Ralph Reed was a defendant, and gave his age as 47 more Marriage Intentions

The writer states that he is "In dept by reson of building my Hous"and appeals to his father "to help me now at this dead lift." Joseph Simonds,in 1717, moved from Hartford to East Hartford Five Miles, nowManchester. He m. Agnes ??. (Hinman's First Puritan Settlers, p.299.)William6 Simonds (Benjamin5, Benjamin4, Benjamin3, Benjamin2, William1)b. in Woburn, Sept. 21, 1794, d. in Clarksville, Mo., Jan. 14, 1849. Hemar. in 1824, Amelia P. Flint of Middleton, Mass., who d. in Clarksville in1825. He mar. (2nd) in March, 1836, Elizabeth Hocking Webster, b. in Camborne,Eng., Aug. 14, 1806, and came to America in 1818. Their children:(1) Jane b. Dec. 1836, d. in infancy. (2) Joanna (a twin) b. in Dec. 1836, d.in infancy. (3) John b. Aug. 7, 1838, d. Mar. 13, 1861. (4) Francis b. Apr. 3,1840, mar. Cornelia Isabel Ramsay, and d. in Seattle, Washington, Nov. 2,1908, (5) A. daughter, d. in infancy. (6) Emma Evans, b. Sept. 11, 1843. (7)William b. July 15, 1847, d. in July 1848. All these children were born inClarksville, Mo.
