Obituary article states as follows: Forrest Harold- age 55 of Lake City, passed away Monday, May 19,1997 at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was a member of Laurel Branch Baptist church, He had served our country in the United States Army for the past twenty years and was a sergeant in theTennessee Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and flower gardening. He was born June 28,194 in Bangor Michigan to Jehu and Mattie Holley Forrest. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Buford Forrest, Shermon Forrest, Thomas Sayles, Vernon Sayles, Norman Forrest, sister Louise Hedko. Survivors: wife Freddie Fox Forrest, Lake City, sons and daughter in law Dale Forrest, Sedan, Kansas. Dwayne and Sheila Forrest, Lake City, sisters Margaret Schank, CarpentersvilleIll, Fayetta Roddey, Elgin Ill, Virginia Forrest, Reelfoot,Tenn, brothers James Forrest, South Haven Mich, George Forrest, Chicago Ill several nieces and nephews, very special niece Ashie Pooh, Lake City. Visitation 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, May 22,1997 at Cox Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 8 P.M.in the chapel with Rev David White and Rev. Houston Carroll officiating, Interment Friday, May 23,1997 at 11 A.M. in Circle Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the United States Army- First Squadron, 278-ACR division. Arrangements by Cox Martin of Lake City.
