Philo Thomas Porter was b. in New York State according to the 1850 census, on 23 Oct. 1795; and d. in Turtle Twp., Rock Co., Wisc. which is near Beloit, Wisc. He was bur. in the Clinton Village Cem.
Philo mar. at New London, Ohio 19 Sept. 1821 to Polly Miner, the dau. of Azel (Asa) Miner and his wife Sylva Munson. She was b. 13 Sept. 1802 in Ontario Co., N.Y. and came from Brighton, N.Y. to New London. She d. in Turtle Twp., 11 Oct. 1875; and was bur. with her husband.
Served in the War of 1812 from 15 Sep 1812 to 8 Mar 1813 in Capt. A. Shepherd's Co. of Ohio Militia as a substitute for Thomas Hewitt.
