The Clabeaux were a Catholic family that lived across the street from the Betz family in 1870 (per Ted Clabeau, a great-grandson of this family). (Census records imply they lived next door to each other.)

1870: 1) Philip Jr. is not living in his father's house 2) Johanna Betz is living with the Heichberger's (could possible be in the same house as her parents). 3) Philip Jr. could be married and living with his bride's family. Perhaps Philip was a widower when he married Johanna.

Internment record indicates he was initially buried at and moved from another cemetery "From 94-DD 11/8/1893". Owner of the Forest Lawn plot (brother-in-law, John C. Betz) died June 1893.

Ted Clabeaux indicates that Philip was buried out of East Side Presbyterian. Obit: Buffalo Daily Courier, 8 Jul 1881 Philip Edward Clabeaux - One of the oldest members of Buffalo Lodge no. 9 - A.O.U.W. and a charter member of Buffalo Legion no. 9, died yesterday morning after a protracted and painful illness. He was a gentleman of exemplary character and his wife and child will have the sympathy of many friends. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the East Side Presbyterian Church. The Select Knights of Buffalo Legion will act as an escort and are ordered to assemble on the "Sacred Retreat" at one o'clock for this purpose. Their comrades of the Erie League are invited to participate.
