    Philip [Summers] was Oliver Perry's great grandfather, born October 2, 1728, in Germany, died May 2, 1814. His wife was Salome Reibel, born 1739, died May 20, 1817. They were married February 24, 1764. They had nine children: Martin, George, Nicholas, Philip, John, Anthony, Henry, Peter, Elizabeth. Philip and Salome are buried in the churchyard of St. John Lutheran Church, grave #36, second row west of center, at 5th and Race Street, Philadelphia, PA.
