Peter Taliaferro, son of Captain Richard Taliaferro and his wife Rose Berryman, was born Feb 12, 1740, date of death not known. Peter inherited part of the 10,000 acres of land in Amherst County that belonged to his father. He sold this land in 1767 and removed to Fredericksburg, Virginia. Married in 1761 to Ann Hackley, the daughter of John and Judith Hackley of King George County, Virginia. Judith was the daughter of Samuel Ball and Ann Cahterine Tayloe. John Hackley was the oldest son of James and Elizabeth Hackley of King George County.
