From A History of Wyoming County, New York Palmer C. Fargo, son of Palmer and Caroline Fargo, was born January 31, 1835 in the town of Warsaw and has always lived on the home farm. He has been inspector of elections 13 years. He was married Sept. 16, 1858 to Sarah M. Coburn, daughter of William and Caroline Coburn, by whom he has two children, one of whom, Ida C., is living. Mr. and Mrs. Fargo are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Warsaw. From A History of the Town of Warsaw, New York He occupies the homestead with his father in the north part of town. Obituary The death of Palmer C. Fargo, a life-long and highly respected citizen of Warsaw, occurred at the family home on the corner of Washington and Butternut streets, Sunday morning, October 15th, about eight o'clock, after an illness of the past several weeks. His parents, Palmer and Caroline W. Scovel Fargo, were among the early settlers in this locality. The deceased was one of twelve children and was born on the old homestead in the north part of the town, January 31, 1835, where he lived until twelve years ago when he came to the village and moved into the home where he died. On September 16, 1858, he was united in marriage to Sarah Maritta Coburn of Covington, who died September 15, 1909. To them were born two children, Luella, who died in infancy, and Mrs. Ada McConnell, who survives together with two grandsons, Harry McConnell of Rochester, and Milton McConnell of Warsaw; also three sisters, Mrs. Lovina C. Snow of Warsaw, Mrs. Florilla O. Green of Pinckney, Mich, and Mrs. Wealthy L. Parsons of St. Paul, Minn. For many years Mr. Fargo was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church here, was for sometime president of its Board of Trustees and was chairman of the building committee when the new church was built. Funeral services were held at his late home Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. W.H. Smith, assisted by Rev. S.D. Huff, officiating, with burial on the family lot in Warsaw cemetery. References
