Owen Newborn was baptised on 21st June 1829 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, son of a labourer and gardener named Charles Newborn and his wife Mary Slater. The 1841 census finds Owen living with his parents and siblings in Barnack. Thirty years later he was married with children and his widowed mother had moved in with him. Like his father, he was working as a gardener in Barnack. Owen has yet to be traced after the 1871 census.
