Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors for Newton Lonzo Wariner, 89, of 1718 Beech.

Mr. Wariner was born Sept. 14, 1875 in Basin Springs. He died this morning in Amarillo Veteran's Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Wariner was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and was a retired Civil Service employee. Mr. Wariner married Myrta Hogue May 18, 1899 in Baxter Springs. She preceded him in death May 21, 1963.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Clayton Parsons of Pampa, Mrs. E. B. Brown of Houston, Mrs. Fay Lark of Fort Worth, Mrs. Olin Chadwell of Santa Ana, and Mrs. Verle Smith of Anaheim, California; four sons, M. J. Wariner of Lefors, Alva H. Wariner of Santa Ana, California, Lee Wariner of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cecil Wariner of Castle Rock, Colorado; one brother, Neel Wariner of Gainesville; one sister, Mrs. Leonard Shires of Santa Fe Springs, California; 46 grandchildren and 40 great -grandchildren.
