No records have been found to indicate if --?-- Reed or Jane Seth is the mother of Nathaniel's children. The will of Matthew Reed names heirs of Nathaniel Comegys to receive his estate if his two sons die during their minority but that isn't prof that the heirs were then alive. Jane Seth has been assumed to be the mother.

On 16 Jul 1707 Nathaniel Comegys administered the estate of Matthew Read. For him to do so he must have been 21 years old or older fixing his birth to be 1686 or earlier. The will of Matthew Read of Queen Ann's County mentions to Nathaniel Comggies as his son-in-law.
