Nathan McCluer was the son of John McClure (11 Nov 1750 to 4 Jul 1822 in Rockbridge Co., Virginia). Nathan married Jane Hall McChesney, in Feb 1821 (either 15th or 22nd) in Augusta Co., Virginia.

I note his wife's gravestone says McClure instead of McCluer.

Nathan McCluer, died 8 Aug 1855 in Rockbridge Co., VA, of Liver disease, aged 69 years, the son of John & Jane (sic) McCluer, born Rockbridge Co., husband of Jane McCluer, reported by son in law, J P Leckey. Rockbridge Co., VA Death Register.

The W.P.A. Inventory here (page 8, #89) transcribed his marker with the incorrect age at death:
    In memory of
    Nathan McCluer
    who departed this life
    Aug. 8, 1855
    Aged 84 (sic) years.
It clearly says aged 69 years, as does the death register.

According to the above inventory, it appears she was buried next to James Paxton McCluer, David T McCluer, Mary Elizabeth McCluer and Mary Mills McClure.

Nathan McClure was a ruling elder in Falling Spring Church and a faithful Christian. The light of his beautiful home was his wife, Jane, than whom there was no more lovely Christian character. In her sweet face and hearty welcome there was a lovableness which won for her a host of friends, and which was the heritage of her daughter Nancy Jane. ...
