[The first part of this will talks about land & after his wife's death what he gives & bequeths to his sons John Ellis and Hyram Ellis but the microfilm is almost unreadable:] divided [after the death of my loving wife before mentioned] between my children ? to ? John Ellis, Susannah Heflin, Sally Morrison, Hyram Ellis, Polly Morrison & Bayless Ellis to them & their heirs forever. ___it hath please____to affecting my son Bayless Ellis on such manner that he is not capable to take care of himself. It is my will that my daughter Sally Morrison shall take him under her care in the case all that I leave to him the said Bayless. It ____to her for his care to named during his natural life and his death, to her and her heirs forever. Lastly I constitute and appoint my loving wife, Rachel Ellis, Executer and my son John Ellis, William Heflin Grantors to this my last testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 26 day of March One Thousand eight hundred eighteen.

At a court held Fauquier County on 26 day of May 1823 the last will and testament of Nathan Ellis dec. was proved by the oaths of William Keyes? and Edward Groves ______thereto and ordered to be recorded and in the motion of John Ellis and William Heflin two of the executors there on named who made oath thereto and together with Thomas Morrison, David Morrison and Hiram Ellis their security entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of Four Thousand Dollars conditioned as the ______ certificate is granted them for obtaining probate of the will or deed form.
