Information on Mealy Whitecotton
The identity of Mealy Whitecotton's children is listed in his wife, Sarah's will:
- I, SARAH WHITECOTTON being weak & sick in body but in perfect sence, do affirm this is my last will and testament.. Recommended my soul to the Almighty, my body to be buried.
- Item I give to my loving son MEALEY, two Negroes and one horse colt, and the household stuff & stock to be equally divided between him and his sister NANCY. But if MEALEY should die without heirs lawfully begotten, then his Estate shall fall to his sist er ANN WHITECOTTON
- Item I give to my loving daughter ANN WHITECOTTON, one Negro wench & a white girl named Margaret Whitcomb until she arrive to the age of 18 years, and the other half of the Household stuff & stock to be equally divided. And if ANN WHITECOTTON should die without heirs lawfully begotten, then her Estate shall fall to MEALEY WHITECOTTON.
