After her husband John died, Mary and her son Christian continued to keep the tavern at Monctom Bottom. After Christian died, she moved to Upper Canada for a short time and later returned to New Brunswick. She was living with her daughter Rosanna at the time of the 1851 census. It is not known where she is buried.
