Mary Synnott was Thomas Barrett's first wife. She was Joseph and Sarah's mother. I have found some information about Mary, from the census returns I have found for 1901 and 1911 she was born around 1874, as she lists her age as the same as her then husband Thomas.

Mary married Thomas in 1893, and at that time her father was deceased. At the time of her marriage she lived in 1 Summer Street South in Dublin. And Thomas lived next door. After her marriage she moved with Thomas to 18 Braitewaite Street around the corner.

From the information gathered from the Census return for 1911, which had more detail than the previous one, she had given birth to 5 children, by 1911 she had lost 4 of these children and only Joseph remained.

She lived there until her death in 1932 aged 59, which means she was born in either 1873 or 1874. She died from a heart attack at home in 18 Braitewaite Street. Her husband was listed as being a laboror at that time. She is buried with Thomas in (Plot LG 143 1/2) in Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin, Ireland
