As was the case with Peter Lower's two previous wives, it would seem he would have met MARY in the Urbana area, but as in the case with the others, her surname is not known in that community.

It is also unknown as to why she was not buried in the same section of the cemetery in Anderson, as was her husband, even though she died 23 years later. Obviously, there is a lot of missing history about this family!

A discrepancy exists in Mary's date of birth. The 1900 Census says 1849, another souce says 1852, but her tombstone says 1851. Very young to have been married in 1864! Even in that era!

The copy of the obituary of Mary was sent to this compiler by her grandson, Loren Lower, in circa 1974.
