In Shelby, Monday Jan.9. Mrs. Josephus Blake aged 47. Funeral at the M.E. Church, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.. Mary Jane Merrill was born in Pottsdam, New York, May 16, 1845, and removed with her parents to Springfield, Illinois where she was married to Josephus Blake, in 1864. She was the mother of four children, two of whom are now living. Mrs. Blake has been a long sufferer from a complication of diseases which culminated in dropsical trouble leading to her death. Owing to poor health she has not mingled in society to any extent during their residence here but was respected by all who knew her. Mr. Blake and family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
