Ken Merrill furnished the following information. Lyman and several of his sons (at least Joseph, James and Hiram) moved to Broadwell (Logan County, Illinois a few miles from Springfield) shortly after the Civil War. A descendant of the family line that stayed in New York told Ken Merrill that Lyman moved back to New York sometime shortly after the 1870 census in Broadwell. (The 1870 census of Broadwell showed him as a farmer living alone). James and Hiram are mentioned in the "History of Logan County, Ill." published in 1878, and James is in the 1880 census for Broadwell. Another of Lyman's sons , William W. later moved to Minnesota and his descendants still live in Hutchinson, Minn.. Hiram moved to Nuckolls County, Nebraska and some of his line moved to Idaho.
