Facts and Events
Mary-Ann James was the daughter of a potter from Plymouth, John James, who had moved to Newcastle to be a moulder (in a colliery?). She was the second wife of William Robson who was a widower with one child, Edward Garner Snowden Robson, when they married. William's wife Anna Garner Snowden had died three years earlier shortly after giving birth to Edward. When William died of liver disease aged 44, leaving Mary with eight children, she married her sister Jane's widower, George Henry Henderson. Her sister Jane had died just two months earlier, aged 56.
