The original will and original Inventory, which is kept on file at the Connecticut State Library, for the Estate of Mary Buell Mills Bissel, dated 9 April 1718 named her daughters, Mary, Hannah and Elizabeth, and grandchildren, heirs of son John Mills and heirs of daughter Sarah Ellsworth. She named son Simon Mills Jr., sole Executor of her Estate, and signed the document "Mary Bifel"

    I, Mary Bissell of Simsbury, doe make this my last will and testament: I give unto my eldest daughter Mary, the wife of Samuel Humphreys, my pillion; and to sd. Mary and my daughters Hannah and Elizabeth, all my wearing clothes, to be equally divided among them three. I give to the heirs of John Mills 5 shillings, and to the heirs of Sarah Elsworth 5 shillings. I do give unto my son Simon Mills the remainder of my estate, both personal and real. And appoint my son Simon Mills sole executor.
