  15. Mathilde Stuve Moulton (Martin's daughter) said that Martin had a beautiful voice, and he was commissioned to sing for the King of Norway - on the very day their ship was to sail. She said he ran all the way from the palace to the docks ("all the way across Oslo") in order to get there before the ship set sail. He had been in the military service and had recently been released. The military training had, evidently, left him in good enough physical condition to run so far.
  16. History of the property: In the beginning, the land went from the U.S. government to 1812 War Veteran, Gilbert Weeks after the War. It passed from Weeks to Lucious Booth in 1858; from Booth to Charles Blom in 1880; and from Blom to Martin Stuve in 1886. Bernard Dupont received a certificate from the State of Wisconsin in 1986 for 100 years of continuous family farm ownership.
