Source:Wheeler, Albert Gallatin. Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America, p. 517, basically throws up his hands and says the Joseph Wheelers are too hard to figure out. Consequently, he never mentions "Ruth Fox" or her children, including this Martha, or any Martha marrying Nathaniel Barrett. Source:Wheeler Families of Old Concord, Massachusetts, having taken the trouble of consulting probate records, does do some sorting out of the Joseph Wheelers, but still provides no information on Martha beyond her birth, since there is no full identification of heirs in her father's probate. That she married Nathaniel Barrett is assumed from her age and the description of her as "of Acton" in her marriage record. Of course, Nathaniel and Martha had a son Joseph, since that is Nathaniel's father's name, but they also had a daughter Ruth, which hints this may be correct.
