Says she was born around 1715, daughter of Gavriel & Andree Angelique JOANNES. She and her husband and three children were at Ekoupag, on the river Saint-Jean (in New Brunswick) on the 1739 census. Several members of this family settled in Louisiana.

    Marie Charlotte GAUDIN, wife of Jean DUGA/DUGAST, died 17 Jul 1765, buried 18 Jul 1765. Recorded by Fr. Jean FRANCOIS at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, St. Martinville, LA (SM Ch.: v.1, p.7) & (SM Ch.: Slave Funeral Register, v.1, #6).

    One of the first burials in this parish, R. FRANCOIS signed himself "cure de la nouvelle Acadie".
