What we thought was her baptism/birth record in St. Peters (22 Aug 1849) was actually her DEATH record. It APPEARS to indicate she was 5 or 8 years old at time of death (therefore b. abt. 1840-1853). But her parents weren't married until 1848. In 1840, her mother would have been 16. We should look for her birth in Altenbamberg (where Katharina Dern grew up) or Feilbingert (where Heinrich Betz grew up) between 1840 and 1844 to see if there was an illegitimate birth. Darcy has been unable to find her birth in Altenbamberg.
