Malinda Maria was the 6th child of Truman & Rhoda Webster, the 4th daughter. She was born in Monroe county Michigan where the family had moved just 4yrs earlier. She would stay in Michigan until she was 7yrs old & then the death of her father would cause the family to return to Clarendon, NY in Orleans county where she would live out her long life. She married Cyrus Foster when she was 20yrs old. They had one daughter, Adelia, who died at age 7. That same year one of Cyrus's sisters died in Michigan leaving a 5mo old little girl. Cyrus & Malinda adopted the girl, Nellie.
In June of 1860 before they married in July, Cyrus Foster 24, was working at the Brewer farm(his married sister) in Clarendon & Malinda 16, was living with her mother & brothers & sisters, also in Clarendon.
1869 -Malinda Foster is named as a beneficiary of her mother's estate.

1880 Census for Clarendon, Orleans, NY Roll #912 ED145, p.36 h/h428 - Cyrus Foster 44, farmer, b.NY, pb.NY & wife Melinda 39 b.MI, pb.NY and adopted dau Nellie 10, b.MI pb.NY. Also, in the household is Cornelia Lafleur 35, sister, widow, b.MI, pb.NY. This is Melinda's younger sister Rhoda Cornelia.

1900 Census for Clarendon, NY in Orleans County roll #1142 Foster, Cyrus, 64, b.Sep 1835 in NY, farmer, married 39yrs & wife Malinda 59, b.Aug 1840 in MI, gave birth to 1 child & 1 living(this is wrong). With them is Merle Burr, granddaughter, 6, b.Jun 1893 in NY. Not far from them is Ward Housel, 24 & his wife Ella May, age 21. In 1912, Ella May dies & he will marry Merle.
1905 New York State Census Clarendon, NY- p.10 Cyrus 69. b.US, farmer, & Milinda 64, b.US & Myrte Burr 12, step-daughter(Actually Merle Burr was their granddaughter, the child of their adopted daughter Nellie)
1910 Census -Clarendon, Orleans Co.NY - Cyrus Foster 74, m.49yrs, b.NY, farmer, Owns his farm free & his wife Malinda 69. They had one child and it died. Malinda was b.MI. Living with them is Merle Burr 16, granddaugher b.NY.

Jan 10, 1929 - Melinda Webster Foster: The death of Mrs. Melinda Webster Foster occurred at her home in Clarendon Thurs night, Jan 3, following that of her husband, Cyrus W.Foster, by but little more than a week. Mr. Foster passed away on Dec 26 and the shock of his death proved too much for the waning strength of his helpmate of more than 68yrs, although her health had been somewhat better than usual of late. Mrs. Foster was born in Monroe, Michigan, Aug 2, 1840, and had lived in Clarendon since 7yrs of age. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Bennet of Clarendon; one grandson, Cyrus W. Bennett of Clarkson; and one granddaughter Mrs. Ward N.Housel of Clarendon. Funeral services were held from her late home Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev.E.W.Middleton officiating, and interment was made in Hillside Cemetery. NOTE other sources say birthdate is Aug 9th
