  3. Will of Joshua Whitney of Worcester, dated 16 Mar 1803, names "Lucy Chapin my Daughter and wife of Thaddeus Chapin" [Worcester Probate 64967]. Lucy is the first child mentioned in the will.
  4. This recorded birth date is prior to the parents marriage, but fits well with other siblings, showing a pattern of births every two years, suggesting the possibility that the parents marriage was misrecorded? A marriage one year earlier would allow him to be "of Watertown" in 1758 but having a child in Worcester in 1759. The Whitney Research Group gives a good overview here though it offers no explanation for this.
