Smith, Louis - born 3/1763 in Thompkins Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; entered service abt. age 16 in Augusta County, Virginia in Virginia Company; moved 2-3 years after Revolutionary War to Rutherford County, North Carolina, then to Haywood County, North Carolina, where granted Pension in 1833; died there 1/4/1842; married 10/1791 to Mary Wyele (Marriage Bond 10/25/1791 signed by George Painter), Rutherford County, Tennessee; widow granted Pension 1844 in Haywood County, North Carolina abt. age 71; family birth record written in German script which compiler was unable to decipher. F-W4805, R2226.
