Mrs. Hawkins, Former Teacher, Dies; Rites Set Mrs. Lilly Belle Hawkins, 80, of Rt. 2, Sharpsville, a former school teacher, died at 7:15 o'clock Sunday morning at the Tipton County Memroial Hospital. Mrs. Hawkins had taught in the old Swingtown School near Sharpsville and the Sharpsville Elementary School. She was a lifelong resident of the Sharpsville area. She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1912 and received degrees from Tri-State College at Angola and Madam Blaker's School at Indianapolis. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Mother Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, at Boston, Mass. She was born near Sharpsville on Aug. 21, 1893, and was the daughter of William H. and Mary Ellen Lee Jarrett. She is survived by the husband, James M. "Mont" Hawkins, to whom she was married Nov. 4, 1915; three daughters, Miss Mary Louise Hawkins of Des Plaines, Ill., Miss Margaret Hawkins of Kokomo and Mrs. Jane Henderson of Rt. 2, Sharpsville; one sister, Mrs. Lula Cage of Sharpsville, and two grand-chi1dren, Gae Lynn and Monte Lee Henderson, both of Sharpsville. Funeral services for Mrs. Hawkins will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Warner Funeral Home at Sharpsville with James C. Finney of the Christian Scientist Church officiating, and burial will be made in the Sharpsville Cemetery. It was announced that friends may call at the funeral home until 9 o'clock tonight, and until the hour of the services Tuesday. Scan from either the Tipton or Kokomo Tribunes. She died on a Sunday.
