"Lewis Stoddard died Monday night at his home in West Carthage, aged 63. He is survived by his wife, Olive M.; two daughters, Mrs. G. M. Barry, of Carthage and Mrs. George Schlelder, of Vermont, and his father, Norton Stoddard, of Copenhagen, who is 90 years old. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the house, and Rev. James Matthews will officiate. Mr. Stoddard was born in Pinckney, Lewis county, and had resided in West Carthage for nine years. Previous to that time he resided in Castorland for 30 years, where he was employed as a stationary engineer. He was a member of Carthage Lodge, I. O. O. F., having held the office of past grand."

Stoddard, in the town of Lowville, in honor of the former's ninety-fourth birthday. Mrs. Stoddard is very active considering her advanced age, is in full possession of all her faculities, has the enjoyment of good health and the respect and love of her children, four of whom were present. Mr. and Mrs. James Clobridge, of Allen, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Stoddard, of Champion, and Mr. and Mrs. Norton Stoddard, of Copenhagen; also grand-children, great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children. The occasion was one of much delight and pleasure to all as the hours were passed in social intercourse of a bountiful dinner, one of the cakes being made by Mrs. Stoddard.
