    MRS. OLIVE J. STODDARD
    Death Occurs In Daytona Beach, Fla., on Friday, July 9 -- Formerly Resided
    in Copenhagen, Castorland and West Carthage.
    Carthage — Word was received here Monday morning of the death of Mrs. Olive Joslin Stoddard, 81, former resident of West Carthage and Castorland, which occurred last Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mamie Ryan, of Daitona Beach, Fla. Mrs. Stoddard had been in failing health for the past two years.
    Mrs. Stoddard was born at Boonville, February 4, 1866, a daughter of Rufus and Ruth Granger Joslin. On April 23, 1873, she was married to Lewis Stoddard, and lived for a short time in Copenhagen. The couple later lived in Castorland and West Carthage where they spent most of their married life. Mrs. Stoddard was a charter member of Nokomis Rebekah Lodge, Lowville.
    Mr. Stoddard died.in 1918. After his death Mrs. Stoddard went to live with her two daughters, spending her winters with Mrs. Ryan in Manchester, Vt., and Daytona Beach, and her summers with Mrs. Ruth Orilla Berry, 451 Flower avenue east, Watertown. For the past two years, however, she had remained with Mrs. Ryan on account of her health.
    Besides her two daughters, Mrs. Stoddard is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elva Stoddard, of Watertown, R. F. D.; three grandchildren, Howard Schleider of White Plains, Leland Schleider of Manchester, Vt., and Harold Berry of Copenhagen, and nine great-grandchildren. A grand-daughter, Mrs. Hazel R. Berry Wood, wife of Oscar Wood, of 304 Keyes avenue, Watertown, died in January.
    The body is being brought to the Doyle funeral home in ? ? Carthage, to await ? ? ? the funeral, which is expected to be held the latter part of the week. The arrangements will be made after the arrival of Mrs. Ryan, who is driving here from Daytona Beach.
