About Leveta

April 2, 1929 - Dec 12, 2008

Leveta was born April 2, 1929, my mother had a hard time in delivery and the doctor did not know if he would be able to save either, the doctor ask my dad (George J. Bradley) witch should he try to save the mother or the baby, my mother (Connie Isbell Bradley) over heard and answered "save the baby", But God spare both...

Leveta was 11 years older than I, she mother me and was very special to me, she would read to me a lot, I had some special poems that I like in the book "101 Famous Poems", I had her to read them to me so much before I started in school that I knew them by heart, and still remember a big part of them till this day. She was a senior in High School when I went to the first grade, she walk me to school, then would come over at lunch time and get me and take me to the drug store to get a hot sandwich because I did not like cold ones..I did not like any boy that like her and would not let them set with us at lunch.

Leveta graduated from Earlington High School(Earlington, Hopkins, Kentucky, United States, she attended Western Kentucky College (now University) and got a teachers certificate, She married a boy from South Christian County on 17 of June 1950. They lived with his parents for a few months and bought the farm next to his parents and that was her home till she died. Their farm was joined on two sides by Fort Campbell Army Base.

Leveta was a good daughter, a great sister, a loving mother and faithful wife, she had three loving children (two girls and a boy)and two grandchildren that she love very much.

Leveta was not only my sister but a best friend, I could talk to her about anything, she always listen, and would encourage me.

She passed away Friday Dec 12 at 1:50 PM after a long battle with her health, she had a Heart attack while her daughter Linda and husband Ralph was in the room with her, just gasp a couple of time and was gone. She had been talking to them up to that point. She had been in ICU for the past 7 days --Dlbradley1 10:33, 13 December 2008 (EST)

This is a very precious family and today we come to share their sorrow with them.

Today our hearts are touched by the passing of this precious mother'

She was avery special Lady- one that I remember for her kindness and her love for her family.

She was a loving, devoted to family person, a faithful daughter, sister, wife, and mother.

She was a giver--she made this world a better place to live.

If the world was full of people like her--you wouldn't need a police force--lock on your doors--she was a credit to not only this family--but to this community where she lived her life and called it home.

Hers was a well lived life--because of the choices hes made

She had a deep love that she gave to those who knew her, she love you for you, not for what she thought you should be, but for you...

If she disapproved of what you were doing she may tell you, but would never treat you any different than she had always treated you. She was always honest, you could talk to her freely, and she always had time to listen to what you needed to tell her.

She loved to work with children and became a volenteer at the local grade school in teaching children how to read and did this till her health failed her, and was no longer able to do it.

She was a friend to all who knew her.

Sometimes at funerals there are tohose who would come to judge, but we don't come to do that today--that is in the hands of one who looks at us with much more mercy than what man gives.

  • Heb. 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
  • Heb. 4:15 Forwe have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but wa in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
  • Heb. 4:16 Let us therefore com boldly unto the throne of gradce, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

"The Story of the Blind Men who went to see the Elephant

One touched his tusk and said he was like a Spear--another felt of his side and said he was like a wall--another touched his knee and said he was like a tree==another his ear and said he was a Fan--another touched his trunk and said he was like a snake--another his tail and said he was like a rope.

Sort of like the blind men who went to see the elephant--we all have a perception of what we think God is and what he looks like."

The little girl who drew his picture--the teacher ask what she was drawing and the little girl replied a pictue of God, the teacher said you can not do that because no one knows what God looks like, to witch the little girl replied: they will when I get done...

Simeon touched Him--actually he held Him in his arms

  • Luke 2:28 Then took he Him up in his arms, and blessed God, aznd said
  • 2:29 now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word;

The woman with the issue of blood touched Him

  • Lu. 8:43 And a woman having a issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all he living upon physicians, neither could be healed by any.
  • Lu. 8:44 came behind Him, and touched the border of His garment; and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Thomas doubted--but when he touched Him he became convinced

  • John 20:27 Then saith He to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands and reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
  • John 20:28 and Thomas answered and said unto Him MY Lord and My God

The whole multitude touched Him and He Healed them all

  • Lu. 6:19 and the whole multitude sought to touch him; for there went virtue out of Him and healed them all.

In fact the Apostle Paul tod those in the book of Acts to:

  • Acts 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might fell after Him, and fimd Him, though he be not far from every one of us.

This time of the year that reminds us of His birth also reminds us why He came to earth.

Immauel--God with us, He is here so we can touch Him and cast our cares upon Him. you can touch him -- He can feel what you go thoughn -- and we can approach His throne to find mercy and help.

The Psalmist David wrote

  • Psa. 61:2 From the end of the earht will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
  • Psa. 61:3 for thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Job felt the same way about Him

  • Job 23:1 Then Job answered and said
  • Job 23:2 Even to day in my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
  • Job 23:3 Oh that I knew where I might find Him! that I might come even to His seat
  • Job 23:4 I would order my cause before Him, and fill my mouth with arguments
  • Job 23:5 I would know the words which He would answe me, and understand what He would say unto me
  • Job 23:6 Will h plead against me with his great power? No; but He would put strength in me.

Job said when I am through withmy visit whit God and I am going to be a stronger person

With God as our helper--we realize that there is not much that he cannot fix.

No situation where His Grace cannot reach too

No storm that he cannot calm, and the knowledge and awareness of that promise is something that gives us power against fears upspring. No stituation that arises causes him to change, and even tho we are not always what swe should be-- He is always more than what we could ever hope for or imagine.

Some of these Days

  • by Frank Santon

Some of these days all the skies will be brighter,

  • Some of these days all burdens will be lighter
  • Hearts will be happier, Souls will be whiter
  • Some of these days
  • Some of these days, in the desert's upspringing-
  • Fountiains shall flash while the josy-bells are ringing
  • and the world-with its sweetest of words--shall go singing
  • Some of these days
  • Some of these days! Let us bear with our sorrow
  • Faith in the future--its light we may borrow
  • These will be joy in the golden tomorrow
  • Some of these days..
