Listed in the 1850 Polk County, Texas Census as Lena Curry, age 26, born Texas? I'll have to check on this information. Not sure which is correct--possibly two different Lenas?

From William and Sue McBride: "She married William Ferrell Aug. 14, 1850 in Polk Co. Tx. They took out their license the same day that Lucretia Brandon and Major McKim took out theirs. Both couples were married the same day and their marriages were recorded the same day. I have felt that Lena and Major were brother and sister and they had a double wedding. William and Lena had one child, a son named Ludy C. Ferrell who was born in 1852. Shortly there after William hit Lena, she fell and hit her head on the porch and died. Her brother took out after William and declared he would not return until he had killed William. It has been handed down that Lena's brother returned a year later, went back to work and said nothing about where he had been or if he had accomplished what he set out to do. Now another bit of news is that in 1905 a suit was filed in Trinity county and listed my Ludy C. Ferrell as a descendant of James McKim. I believe he could be this only if Lena was a daughter of James McKim. Also, my uncle told me before he died that my grandmother told her grandkids that her grandmother was part Indian. Lena was the person she was referring to. If this is so, was it from the Hickmans, or the McKim side? My grandmother said that her grandmother came from two different tribes."
