Notes His name appeared on the Mecklenburg Co Federal census list in 1810, the first appearance. The Will of Josiah, signed in 1810, was proved at the Nov 1812 term of the Mecklenburg Co Superior Court, Will Book L, p.73. He named no wife, but the children (added to his chart).

Very unsure about the confusion of Josiah Harrison. His will names the children listed and wife. One of these sources is surely incorrect on the ancestry of Josiah.

Are there two Josiah Harrisons in Rockingham? SLGT states that this Josiah went to Kanawha Co., VA. Tunis Hood states that this Josiah (see duplicate) went to Mecklenburg. We feel pretty certain that the Tunis Hood reference is more accurate on this family than SLGT at this time. Original records need to be obtained to verify.
