WILL: 1 July 1777: Case, Joshua, of Roxbury, Morris Co.; will of. Wife, Elizabeth, the use of all my estate, to support my children till they are of age. Lands to be sold after wife's decease, and money given to sons, Joshua, Joseph, Samuel, and John, and they to pay my son Auguston, 10 pounds, and to Phinias Case, 5 shillings, when they are of age. Daughters, Rhoda, Susanah and Sarah, moveable estate. Executors: sons, Joshua, Joseph, and Samuel. Witnesses: Nathaniel Condict, Silas Jennings. Proved Aug 16, 1777. Lib. 19 p. 138. He was born in Rhode Island; married Elizabeth Dickerson; died in Sucassuna, NJ. Buried in Presbyterian Cemetery there. D.A.R. 125302, 96039, 92143, 98741, 38148, 40552, 119857, 127566, 134031, S. A. Not married to Elizabeth Dickerson. What is the significance of the "junior" following his name? Many times in this time period, Jr. did not mean his father had the same name, but was used to differentiate him from another relative with the same name -- possibly the Joshua Case [2nd cousin] who mar. Deliverance Wells.]
