MARRIAGE: Elizabeth Dickerson has been listed by many people as having been the wife of Joshua Case. However, there is no proof that Joshua Case was in fact married to an Elizabeth Dickerson. We do know, however, that he was married to an Elizabeth, surname unknown. [Howard Johnston note.]

MARRIAGE: 1743 Joshua Case & Elesabeth Youngs. (no month or date given). MARRIAGE DATA: "Long Island Source Records" in "Genealogies of Long Island" by Henry Hoff, page 266. (Believe this is a different family - Howard Johnston note).

MARRIAGE NOTE: "Application #96039 in the 1912 DAR Lineage Book (also later applications 127566 & 134031) and Reichner & Aiken Genealogy, 1918 p. 162, say Elizabeth Dickerson married Joshua Case, a private in Morris Co. Militia, who was born 1722 & died 1777. A pedigree chart for Joshua and Elizabeth (Dickerson) Case filed with Mormon Church Genealogical records states she was a daughter of Thomas Dickerson of Southold and that she had previously married Andrew Wager in 1743 as above stated. It was implied that Andrew died shortly after marriage as Joshua Case's first child was born about 1744. We have found no record of marriage of Elizabeth Dickerson to Joshua Case and believe there cannot have been such a marriage.
