Services Held For Joseph Tayek

Funeral services for Joseph Tayek, 88, were held Tues. morning, August 24, at 10:00 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. William J. Menster officiating at the Mass.

Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Mr. Tayek died Sat., Aug. 21, at the McGregor Hospital, where he was taken Sun., Aug. 16, for surgery.

Mr. Tayek was born Jan. 17, 1877, in Giard Township, a son of Anton & Anna, nee Lestina, Tayek. He received his education in the rural schools of Giard Township.

He was married to Katherine Moses Feb. 10, 1903, at St. Patrick's Church in Monona. They went to live on the farm on which their son, Edwin, now lives. They retired to Monona in 1939, where they have lived ever since.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Mary, Anna & Elizabeth Kozelka; & five brothers, John, Ben, Jake, Anton & Mike.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Vernon & Edwin of Monona; two brothers, Fred & Frank of Monona; four grandchildren & one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Reuben, Donald & Sylvester Tayek, Wayne McClure, Fred Ferguson, Clarence Moses, Edward Kozelka & Sylvester Lotza.
