From Saratoga County, New york, Surrogate Court Records:

September 1833 - - Joseph Spire died intestate, resident of Clifton Park. Jerusha Spire appointed administrator, along with John Spire, James Groom, William Shepher, Cornelius Hedgeman. Inventory filed December 30, 1833.

January 31, 1840 - - James G. Spire, Mary Spire and Joseph Spire, minor children of Joseph Spire, deceased, become wards of James Groom, Samuel Groom, and Daniel Ede.

July 31, 1840 - - Jerusah Jackson signs affadavits as to the age of each of the children. James G. was 18 on June 21, 1840 Mary was 16 on January 6, 1840 Joseph was 12 on November 13, 1839. Other persons mentioned as relatives: Richard Spire, John Spire, Daniel Ede, Mary Ede.

1833 Joseph Speir and Cornelius Haggerman, both of Halfmoon, acquired some land from S. Dewolf. The land was in Halfmoon, formerly owned by John H. Henderverken, deceased.
