2:247 & 248. Joseph Spaulding of Plainfield, will 12 Aug. 1728, distribution 12 Aug 1740—2:323 & 234. Eldest son Joseph of Chelmsford, Mass., 2d son Nathaniel, and 3d son Thomas, both of Plainfield. Sons-in-law Timothy Pierce and Joseph Adams; granddaughters Lydia Perkins* and Eunice Adams— "that is to say, if my granddaughters Lydia and Eunice have no heirs of their body, their third parts shall be divided equally to and amongst the children of their mothers .... viz. Lydia Pierce and Eunice Adams." "All moveable estate to my daughter Hannah Shepard wife of Isaac Shepard."

April 3, 1747 "Received of Honoured Father Coll. Pierce, 25 pounds, being executor of estate of Mr. Joseph Spaulding, late of Plainfield, dec'd; sum is in full a legacy willed to my daughter Lydia."
