CAPT. JOSEPH POOL son of Edward was b. in the 1650's; d. at Weymouth, Mass. between 11 Apr. and 16 May 1706; and mar. ca. 1673 to Elizabeth Shaw dau. of John Shaw and Alice Phillips.
Joseph Pool, "being sensible and apprehensive of ye near approach of death by a dangerous disease," made his will, 11 Apr. 1706, and it was proved, 16 May 1706 as the will of "Joseph Pool, late of Weymouth, carpenter, deceased." His wife Elizabeth received one-third of his estate, son Joseph Pool got the house and barn that was John Arnold's, son Samuel Pool got the lands and new house which he lives in and so Isaac Pool received the house and land adjoining "that I now live in." To his sons Joseph and Isaac he gave 95 acres in Bridgewater, Mass., purchased of John Lovell. His daughter Elizabeth Lovell received 25 pounds. To the rest of his daughters that were unmarried he gave 25 pounds each. Wife Elizabeth Pool, executrix, and three sons executors.
