Joseph probably came to Watertown, MA before 1640 with his father and siblings. Joseph was a proprietor (original settler) of the New Field ( a new district or "town") in Chelmsford, MA and was allotted 12 acres on 3.12.1666/7. His house lot ws located "west by town highway to the mill, norht by land of Thomas Sewell, east by town common, south by land of John Wright". This location is now on Stedman Street, Lowell, MA. On the ministerial tax list of 1672, Joseph ws listed with eight acres ( tillable?), three cows, two oxen ( 1-2 years old), two yearlings, five swine, and one horse. Some time later Joseph moved to the Stoney Brook district, which is now in Westford, where he died. References
