The 1880 Madison county census reveals wife Sarah Elizabeth went by the name Elizabeth. Son Jonathon 9, and son Walker 5, are also listed. Brother-in-law John Fisher 26, was also living there.

J.W. DIPBOYE IS SUMMONED- Retired Christian Church Minister Dies at Home at 1812 South B Street Today. Joseph W. Dipboye 77, retired minister of the Christian church, died this morning at his home at 1812 South B street of kidney trouble and other complications, after an illness of about four months. He has been confined to his home since last September and the members of the family and his many friends knew that the good life was drawing to a close.

The much beloved minister was born on September 30, 1848 in Delaware county and for the past thirty-five years has been a resident of this city, living all the time in the home in which he died. On September 29, 1870 he was united in marriage at New Lancaster to Miss Elizabeth Sarah Fisher of that place and to this happy union was born six children, three of whom with the widow survive.

Three Children Survive. They are Oliver Dipboye, residing at 1812 South B street; Jonathan Dipboye of Detroit, Mich; and Mrs. George Ranas, Fort Wayne, Ind. Two children died in infancy and a daughter, Josie Dipboye, a graduate of the Elwood high school, passed away on September 6, 1914.

Rev. Dipboye has a very large circle of friends whose hearts will be greatly saddened by his death. He was one of Elwood's most highly respected citizens and when his health permitted, was always an active worker in welfare for the good of the community and its citizens.

Funeral Tuesday Morning. He entered the ministry when a young man being aligned with the Christian church and followed this vocation until ten years ago when he retired. The funeral will be held at the late home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Polly Couch Bowman in charge. Burial will follow in the city cemetery.

DIPBOYE FUNERAL AT CHURCH- Funeral services for the late Rev. Joseph W. Dipboye who died Saturady at his home at 1812 South B street, will be conducted at the M.E. church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock instead of at his residence, as orginally announced. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
