    "5542 John Thurston (John1), … son of John and Margaret Thurston of Dedham, Mass.; born in Wrentham, Eng.; baptized Sept. 13, 1635; married, 'before Ralph Wheelock,' Oct. 4, 1660 [county record says Aug. 8], Mary Wood, born Dec 25, 1642, daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Williams) Wood of Roxbury, Mass. He was a resident of Medfield, Mass.; freeman May 27, 1663, one of the prudential committee 1673, representative to the General Court in 1683, town clerk 1687, and deacon in the church. His will, dated Jan. 10, 1707, proved March 25, 1712, names wife Mary, son John, and daughters Mary, Mehitable, Hannah, Bethia and Hester; died March 3,1712; she died Nov. 23, 1726."
