IV. John, eldest son of the second marriage of Sir William Scot of Clerkington, got from his father in patrimony, the lands and barony of Millenie in Mid-Lothian, which hat ever since been the chief title of this family.
He married Anne, daughter of Sir Thomas Nicollson of Cockburnspath, by whom he had two sons and two daughters.
SONS
1. Thomas, his heir.
2. William, who being bred to the law, was an advocate before the court of session. He married the heiress of Blair of that ilk, etc. etc. See page 196 of this work.
DAUGHTERS
1. _____, was married to Sir William Calderwood of Polton, one of the senators of the college of justice, and had issue.
2. ­­­______, married to her cousin, Laurence Scot of Bevelaw, etc. He died anno 1709, and was succeeded by his eldest son,
