Acquisition of Land in Fauquier County, VA

Acquisition of Land from Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants 1742-1775, Vol. 2:

  • I-151: John Mauzy of Fauquier County dec'd. in his lifetime obtained Warrant for 14 acres on Town Run adjoining his Patent in said County. He died before he had Deed. By Will he devised said land to Betty Mauzy his wife for and during her widowhood or till his daughter Peggy Mauzy is Eighteen years of age or till her Marriage at which time he divises 1/2 of said 14 acres to his daughter Peggy and remaining to his wife Betty. If his wife should Marry or Die, Whole to his daughter Margaret afores's and to the heirs of her body Lawfully Begotten forever. Deed to Betty Mauzy & Margaret Mauzy. Surv. John Moffett. Adjoining Michael Dearmond now said John Mauzy, Luttrall, Combs. 29 Aug. 1766. [Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants, 1742-1775, Vol. 2, pg. 98].
